Forschungsschwerpunkt:
Statistische Physik und Computational Physics mit interdisziplinären Anwendungen in der Medizin und der Informationstechnik.
Konkrete Arbeitsgebiete:
(i) Weiterentwicklung und Anwendung numerischer Methoden der Statistischen Physik zur Charakterisierung komplexer Nichtgleichgewichts-Systeme (Zeitreihenanalyse an biomedizinischen Daten und an Daten sozio-ökonomischer Systeme),
(ii) Modellierung und Simulation komplexer Systeme (Gittergas-Modelle und Agenten-Modelle unter Verwendung von Netzwerk-Topologien) und
(iii) Theorie wechselwirkender komplexer Netzwerke (Netzwerke von Netzwerken, mit Fokus auf dem Wechselspiel von Netzwerkstruktur, Dynamik und Funktion sowie der Stabilität der Netzwerksysteme, mit Anwendungen auf medizinische, soziale und technische Netzwerke).
